The demonstration shows one illustrative cycle. Pause to read, or use the step buttons. A smaller movement is always an option.

TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME

Step by step

  1. 01

Stand in a comfortable wide stance, with soft knees and the trunk upright.

  2. 02

Make loose fists near the waist with the backs of the hands facing outward. Keep the wrists in line with the forearms.

  3. 03

Extend one fist slowly in front of the body at a comfortable height. Leave a little bend at the elbow.

  4. 04

Use a focused gaze without tightening the jaw or holding the breath. This is a controlled extension, not a forceful strike.

  5. 05

Return the hand gradually to the waist. Alternate arms and finish by releasing the hands and easing out of the stance.

BREATHING

Breathe without forcing

An easy exhale may accompany the extension and an inhale the return. Keep breathing naturally if that timing does not suit you; do not brace or hold the breath.

REPETITIONS & TIME

Up to 3 pairs, alternating arms

About 90 seconds at an unhurried pace, with rests as needed. These are practice suggestions, not targets you must meet. Start with one comfortable repetition or pair and stop sooner if needed.

NOTICE, THEN ADJUST

Three common mistakes

01

Locking the elbow at full reach

The extension may jar the joint.

Check: Stop a little short of full extension.

02

Bending the wrist

The hand can feel strained instead of supported by the forearm.

Check: Keep a loose fist and a straight, comfortable wrist.

03

Clenching the jaw and holding the breath

Unnecessary tension can make the movement uncomfortable.

Check: Relax the face, soften the fist and breathe freely.

BEFORE YOU MOVE ON

A small self-check

These questions help you notice comfort and control. They do not certify that a movement is correct.
