MOVEMENT STUDYIllustrative, not a posture assessment

Stand comfortably with feet about hip-width apart and arms resting by your sides.

The demonstration shows one illustrative cycle. Pause to read, or use the step buttons. A smaller movement is always an option.

TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME

Step by step

  1. 01

Stand comfortably with feet about hip-width apart and arms resting by your sides.

  2. 02

Let the legs lengthen gently without locking the knees. Open the chest without lifting the ribs.

  3. 03

Rotate the arms outward within a small comfortable range and slowly turn the head to one side.

  4. 04

Stop before strain. You do not need to look directly behind you or tilt the head backward.

  5. 05

Return the gaze and arms to the front, softening the knees. Repeat to the other side.

BREATHING

Breathe without forcing

Continue natural breathing throughout the turn. Avoid using a long breath hold to stay at the end of your neck range.

REPETITIONS & TIME

Up to 3 pairs, alternating sides

About 90 seconds at an unhurried pace, with rests as needed. These are practice suggestions, not targets you must meet. Start with one comfortable repetition or pair and stop sooner if needed.

NOTICE, THEN ADJUST

Three common mistakes

01

Head is pulled too far around

This may cause neck discomfort or dizziness.

Check: Reduce the turn and stop if symptoms appear.

02

Whole trunk twists with the gaze

The intended small neck movement becomes difficult to notice.

Check: Face the chest forward and use a smaller head turn.

03

Chin lifts sharply

This can compress the back of the neck.

Check: Keep the chin comfortably level rather than looking upward.

BEFORE YOU MOVE ON

A small self-check

These questions help you notice comfort and control. They do not certify that a movement is correct.
